BOSS - About Deirdre Parlon
Deirdre Parlon is the founder and CEO of Black Oak Staffing Solutions. At BOSS, Deirdre expertly does what has come very naturally to her over the span of her twenty-year staffing career; she finds the proper fit for her client companies and employment candidates quickly, confidentially, and with integrity.
Deirdre began her staffing career in 1996 with John Leonard Employment Services in Boston. At John Leonard, Deirdre provided direct-hire and temporary staffing services for her clients, focusing on administrative support, finance and accounting positions. She developed long-term relationships with many clients and candidates, due to her emphasis on superior client service and her sincere passion for finding rewarding work for suitable candidates. She then broadened her skill set even further when she joined an IT staffing firm in 2010, at which she placed candidates in the IT industry throughout the Boston area. Her long career in staffing has honed the natural intuition she has for placing the right candidates in the right positions, and gives her clients and candidates the security of knowing that they are in the hands of an expert who has their best interests in mind.
Deirdre's intuitive knack for understanding people started as a child and her curiosity about people deepened as she began her first of several jobs in the retail sector across a wealth of different Boston neighborhoods while attending Northeastern University. Her daily exposure to vastly different types of people from all walks of life only heightened her passion for working with people to understand their diverse and various needs and to cater to them with the sense of superior client service her clients appreciate today. After graduating from Northeastern with a B.A. in Political Science, Deirdre's long career at John Leonard found her managing branch offices Cambridge, Wellesley, Westborough, Braintree and Burlington, adapting her style to meet the needs of several different client communities. Her versatility served her well when she flexed new muscles by placing staff at an IT staffing firm.
Deirdre resides in West Roxbury with her family. Her commitment to the City of Boston and its environs is evidenced by her involvement in community and volunteer organizations. When she is not working or volunteering, she can usually be found golfing or spending her time with her husband, children and her large family of brothers and sisters. Her personal life continuously informs her professional life at B.O.S.S., as her relationships with her large network of family, friends, and colleagues expands and deepens with time.
